Senior Developer Solar PV (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Aracari Energy is shaping the energy transition by developing, financing, construction, and operation green energy projects in Europe and beyond. We are looking for an ambitious Senior Developer to drive the development of our solar PV power plants in Germany. This role will be key in proactively carrying out all required steps in the development process until RTB (ready-to-built). Having profound experience in the renewable energy industry, the ideal candidate is well acquainted with the administrative processes to obtain building permits, interconnections, offtake agreements, insurance matters, and any other activity in close cooperation with the project partners. The role reports directly to the Head of Development and is based flexibly at the home office with regular travels to the main office in Suhl.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Originate project opportunities in defined target areas in Germany, including responding to RfP’s, executing business development campaigns (e.g. with municipalities), and drafting project proposals for solar PV power plants in combination with other technologies (e.g. battery storage)
  • Independently carry out development activities for greenfield self-developed projects as well as for jointly with external partners developed projects, including but not limited to due diligence, business case development, risk assessments, contract negotiation, and support of all activities up until RTB
  • Secure all third-party consents necessary to build and operate the power plants
  • Prepare and manage all associated budgets
  • Report on development activities at management meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate with clients, landowners, JV partners, stakeholders, and other members of the project team effectively and professionally
  • Effectively manage sub-contractors to ensure timely delivery of works with a focus on health and safety as well as high quality
  • Preparing and updating project documentation
  • Representing Aracari Energy to all external partners and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Completed studies of engineering, economics, or similar or completion of vocational training in a relevant field
  • At least 4 years professional experience in roles related to project development in the field of renewable energy (preferably solar PV)
  • Proven track record of effective communications with project stakeholders, including energy customers, landowners, government officials, utility representatives, and community members
  • Contract negotiation experience and basic legal knowledge of e.g. NDAs, PPAs, land option agreements, long-term service and maintenance contracts and others
  • Experience in identifying project opportunity and demonstrated success in prospecting, identifying, qualifying new business opportunities
  • Experience in managing multiple parallel projects and fast changing priorities with applied project management tasks and methods
  • Analytical skills required to understand the economic, technological and permitting issues of a solar PV project including the ability to competently evaluate site plans, land surveys, environmental and title reports
  • High energy, desire to work in a challenging, fast paced industry
  • Communicative, convincing, and pronounced team player with proven negotiation skills and attention to detail
  • Business fluent spoken and written German skills as well as good spoken and written English skills
  • Very good MS Office skills, knowledge of GIS and CAD tools skills advantageous
  • The role requires occasional traveling across the whole of Germany, so we expect your willingness and flexibility to travel if and when required
